Day 1 with Dr Ian Buckle and Dr Alberto Canabez
The Complete Interdisciplinary Team
A systematic approach to working together
Many of our patients require interdisciplinary solutions and that often involves working as part of a team. However, communication between team members can often be challenging and details are often “lost in translation”. The restorative dentist is usually the anchor of the team but prerestorative alignment by the orthodontist will be critical to the success of the case as will the correct placement of implants and periodontal care.
So we how do we ensure that we achieve the results that our patients deserve with predictability, efficiency and productivity?
In this presentation Alberto and Ian will discuss:
- Getting started – agreeing goals
- The complete examination
- A Predictable Step-by-step treatment planning process
- The role of the orthodontist
- The role of the periodontist
- Joint treatment planning – working as a team
- Organising the workflow
- The role of GDP orthodontics
- Corticotomies, TADs and the role of surgery.
- Case studies to illustrate all of the above
Day 2 with Larry Guzzardo
Better Communication = Increased Case Acceptance:
Getting to “Yes” with Less Stress
The essence of practice building is motivating patients to choose YOUR DENTAL TEAM FOR COMPLETE DENTISTRY. Meeting patient needs and desires is the key, yet discovering those needs and wants isn’t always easy. Treatment acceptance requires effective interviewing and communication skills. A vital part of every team member’s job description is to promote quality patient care and fine dentistry.
Essential to the process is the team’s belief in the value of dental care provided in their practice. This exciting lecture develops the communications skills, the process and the systems necessary to educate and motivate the patient to acceptance.
Learn how to motivate patients to acceptance through:
- Taking the stress out of talking to patients about treatment.
- Presenting treatment with the highest of integrity.
- Never feel like a salesman when presenting treatment.
- Asking better questions to receive better answers
- Practicing effective listening to truly understand a patient’s needs.
