The Team  Study Club planned for May 14 2010 has had to be postponed until  the Autumn, we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. We will update you on further dates planned

Due to high demand and after the great sucess of our first team event in Oct’09, we have organised a full day seminar with Joan Forrest CEO and President The Dawson Academy, Ian Buckle BDS and Vikki Russell RDN.

The venue is the Twickenham Stadium Marriott Hotel in London on May 14th from 9am to 4:30pm. (6 hours CPD)

Numbers are strictly limited and at just £165 (+vat) per dentist and £98 (+vat) per team member we are expecting to sell out quickly.

Are you are asking yourself any of these questions?

  • How do I get my team to understand the clinical concepts I’ve been learning?
  • How do I fit a complete exam into my busy schedule?
  • How do I find time to work up treatment plans?
  • What does it take to get patients to accept treatment?
  • How do I control the business side of my Practice?

After the success of our last team event we are delighted to have Joan Forrest with us to share ideas on how to implement complete dentistry and make the vision you have for your Practice a reality.

We will pay particular attention to the role of the whole dental team in Practice development.

Friday May 7th / 8th – 1 1/2 day intensive Hands-On course

Back in 2009, Assistants, Hygienists, and Practice Managers attended our Assistants course.

Dental Assistant course, November 2009This is an intensive hands on 1 1/5 day course, students accomplished many skills to help assist to the highest level and succeeded in taking a full series of photographs necessary for the record gathering process.

The group looked at the role of occlusion and the background behind the Concept of Complete Dentistry. By the end of the course they all left with a firm understanding of the articulator and how to cast and mount models in CR.

At the end of the first day, a night out was hosted for everyone at a restaurant nearby and after the second day they were ready to return to their practice and face the challenges ahead with enthusiasm.

Ian Buckle demonstrating to a student on Restoring Anterior Teeth courseDue to a high demand, two courses on Restoring Anterior Teeth were held at the Dawson Centre in the Wirral during December. Senior Faculty Member of the Dawson Academy, Scott Finlay, flew over from Annapolis, Maryland USA to help assist Ian Buckle with the first Restoring Anterior Teeth Hands On. This was the first of its kind in the UK showing the AACD Recommended Private Education Course Logo.

Most simple “Smile Makeovers” are not simple veneer cases. Often patients present with a mixture of old crowns, root treated, heavily filled teeth, bridges or implants but still expect the perfect smile. Moreover, wear and other functional probems may further complicate treatment.

Restoring Anterior Teeth - December 2009Delegates attending the progam studied the records required, how to visualise and treatment plan the correct position before selecting the correct restoration.

They covered the requirements for prepararation to provide beautiful and functionally correct temporary restorations quickly and easily.
